Meadow explores the walks undertaken by Cooper at the height of lockdown. The painting was produced over the course of the pandemic, directly inspired by the limitations of lockdown, reflecting the restrictions on movement and confinement of living within small spaces. The bright colours bring us a sense of hope, and the work also stands to celebrate what is in close proximity to us all. Places newly noticed & examined.

Cooper uses geometry to recreate shapes and objects with influences routed from Cubism, Abstractionism, Pop Art & decorative arts. By contrasting the rigidity of the straight lines and shape with the dynamism and fluidity of nature, Cooper tries to highlight the composition of the world: chaos and order coexisting in harmony.
